Obviously, having been marketing online for years, I’ve experienced the toils of doing keyword research. The problem is I never documented what I did and never set up a consistent system.
There are many keyword research tools, free and paid, and I’ve tried many. Which is best? That’s a good question, and because I didn’t pay enough attention I don’t know. But let’s change all that.
I’ve decided finding profitable niche keywords is a good topic for the first ongoing research and testing projects being recorded here at MFARTR.
This idea came about when a post in a Digitalpoint forum called attention to what looks to be a great keyword research tool at SEOTools (http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/).
Lately it’s the Gtrends too at Wordtracker.com that gets my first attention. Now it will be this new tool.
You get the Wordtracker (in fact that’s the underlying engine) daily search estimate result, plus estimates from Google, Yahoo!, and MSN.
There are links to deeper research tools and I like the drill down interface as well.
So you can look forward to some demonstrations of how I use this and other tools. You’ll also find detailed results and analysis of the work I do as I do it.
Oh, and BTW, I’ve registered (while posting here of course) nichemarketingkeywords.com and freenichemarketingkeywords.com where I will post daily (crossing fingers) a list of keywords that I generate in my research.
